Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban emphasized BRICS‘ growing economic strength compared to the West following the recent summit held in Kazan, Russia. Speaking on Hungarian broadcaster Kossuth, Orban highlighted the bloc’s expansion and its economic influence.
“The summit of the Eastern world took place in Kazan last week… They have already expanded, including more than 10 nations, all gathering in Kazan. This is now the economy of the Eastern world,” Orban remarked. “Twenty years ago, this wouldn’t have made headlines, but today, these economies are more significant than the West’s, according to economic indicators.”
Orban contrasted this with the upcoming European Political Community (EPC) summit in Budapest on November 7, which he referred to as a “summit of the Western world” and described as “Hungary’s largest diplomatic event.” Leaders from over 40 nations, including those from the EU, Turkey, the UK, and the South Caucasus, are set to attend. They will address issues related to Europe’s competitiveness and potential geopolitical shifts, particularly in light of the upcoming U.S. elections.
