At the BRICS Traditional Values Forum in Moscow, Nobuntu Lindumusa Webster, South Africa’s National Assembly member and co-founder of the Build One party, shared her belief that the shared values among BRICS nations will help them overcome common challenges and move toward a multipolar world.
During her speech, Webster emphasized that the BRICS countries’ collective strength and mutual understanding can pave the way for a more balanced global order. “I believe that there is enough in the values that we have as nations that is common amongst us to be able to triumph together,” she said. She further explained that this collaboration would drive the global shift toward multipolarity, where power is distributed across various nations rather than concentrated in a few.
Webster also thanked the organizers of the BRICS Traditional Values Forum, noting its significance in fostering deeper relationships and unity among member countries. She expressed confidence that the forum could have a far-reaching influence on global governance and the way the world should move forward.
The BRICS Traditional Values Forum, which took place from November 18-20 in Moscow, focuses on promoting the cultural heritage and traditional values of the BRICS nations. It serves as a platform to discuss the protection of culture and history while strengthening diplomatic ties within the group.
The event featured delegates from national parliaments and public figures from Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Pakistan, Uganda, and the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The forum’s discussions are expected to culminate in a joint declaration on traditional values, underlining the shared cultural and political vision of the BRICS countries.
