In celebration of the upcoming G20 Summit in Brazil on 18-19 November 2024, the TV BRICS International Media Network is launching a special telethon featuring dedicated programming for this major global event. The channel’s schedule will be enriched with live reports, news updates, and a variety of documentaries from G20, BRICS, and ASEAN countries, all aimed at showcasing global perspectives on issues addressed at the summit.
Ksenia Komissarova, Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS, shared that the network’s film crew will be stationed in Rio de Janeiro to provide comprehensive live coverage. In addition to on-the-ground reporting, the broadcast will include expert analyses from specialists worldwide, offering in-depth insights into the summit’s discussions and outcomes.
Throughout the G20 Summit days, TV BRICS will broadcast standout films and programs from partner nations, such as Russia, Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, and South Africa. Viewers can expect to explore cultural projects like documentaries on Chinese cuisine, Russia’s scientific advances, India’s cultural heritage, and Brazil’s agricultural developments. Highlights include the documentary series “Heritage,” which delves into the history of the Cavalcade in Brumal, Brazil, “Trombonists,” covering an international music festival in Argentina, and “Heilongjiang: Sustainable Economic Development Zone,” which discusses China’s pilot free trade zone.
As part of the BRICS interview project, TV BRICS will feature interviews with prominent global figures, including Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka, Ambassador of South Africa to Russia, Rodrigo Baena Soares, Ambassador of Brazil to Russia, Douw Vermaak, Counsellor at the South African Embassy in Russia, and Jiao Jian, Chairman of the China Coal Importers Association.
In October 2024, the TV BRICS portal launched a BRICS & G20 media project, available in six languages, featuring voices from government, academia, journalism, and civil society from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, and Ethiopia. The portal also marked the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan by expanding its language offerings and producing special programming focused on the BRICS Heads of State meeting from 22-24 October.
